To further strengthen the blood safety awareness, implement the Management Measure for Blood Station, Control Regulations for Blood Products and other national related laws and regulations, the National Health and Family Planning Commission has carried out a nationwide technical examination for blood safety.

In the morning of November 25, the Expert Gro up for Blood Management of National Health and Family Planning Commission comprised of Feng Shuli, the Station-Head of Anhui Blood Center, Zhang Xunshan, the Director of Blood Transfusion Department of the Hospital of Anhui Medical University, and Jiang Ni, the Chief of Laboratory Department of Jiangsu Blood Center visited Shandong Cord Blood Bank and implemented the supervision and inspection accompanied by Xiao Ning, the Section Chief of Medical Administration and Medical Management Division of the Health and Family Planning Commission of Shandong Province and Li Linwei, the Section Chief of Shandong Health Inspection Institute. Zhang Wanmin, the Deputy Secretary of Qilu Hospital, Shen Bojun, the Chief Scientist of the Cord Blood Bank, Chu Zhonghua, the Director, Liu Guojun, the General Manager of Qilu Cord Blood, Zhang Guangsheng, the Deputy General Manager of Qilu Stem Cell and the leader of each department and division received the supervision and inspection group.

The deputy secretary of Qilu Hospital Mr. Zhang representing the hospital gave the experts of inspection section a warm welcome, and he said that as the technical backing of cord blood bank, Qilu Hospital set up committee of experts, supplied technical support for cord blood bank’s scientific research and major technical projects and supplied guarantee for the development of cord blood bank from the technical aspect; and the director Chu Zhonghua of Shandong province’s cord blood bank made a work report about the development process, technical research, clinical application and other situations. During the inspection, the experts of inspection section made a key inspection about legal practice, internal quality management, scientific propaganda, clinical application and other work situations through referring to SOP documents and combining record with on-site observation. The general manager Liu Guojun of Shandong province’s cord blood bank and other staffs cooperated each inspection work seriously and it passed the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China’s blood security supervision and inspection in 2016 successfully.

Shandong province’s cord blood bank strictly insists on implementation of national laws and regulations, quality control requirement compliance operation and other requirements to ensure the storage of blood and the security of blood all the time. The successful pass of this inspection is a full recognition to their work.
